In depth

Turning social data into decisions.

Start with the business goal

Likes and followers are easy to count but rarely the point. We start with what social media should achieve for your business, such as enquiries, sales, sign-ups or brand awareness, and choose metrics that reflect those goals.

Platform data, joined up

Each platform reports differently and uses its own definitions. We bring data from your channels together so you can compare performance fairly and see the full picture in one place.

From social to website

Proper tracking with UTM-tagged links and GA4 shows what people do after they click: which pages they visit, whether they enquire and whether they buy.

Content insights

We analyse which topics, formats, lengths and posting times perform best for your audience, so your content plan is based on evidence rather than guesswork.

Paid and organic together

Organic posts and paid campaigns influence each other. Looking at them side by side shows the true contribution of social media to your results.

Clear, actionable reporting

Reports explain what happened, why it matters and what to do next, in plain English rather than pages of charts.

Is it right for you?

Signs you need better analytics.

  • 01

    Lots of data, little insight

You get platform reports but no clear conclusions.

  • 02

    Can’t prove value

It is hard to show what social media contributes to sales or leads.

  • 03

    Inconsistent tracking

Links are untagged and conversions are not recorded.

  • 04

    Guesswork planning

Content decisions are based on opinion rather than results.

What we analyse

The numbers that matter.

Audience

Who you reach, where they are and how your audience is changing.

Content performance

Engagement, saves, shares, watch time and click-through by post type and topic.

Traffic and conversions

Visits, enquiries and sales from social, tracked in GA4.

Competitor benchmarks

How your activity and engagement compare with similar brands.

How we work

Your first 90 days.

  1. 01

    Weeks 1–2: Tracking audit

We review your platforms, links, GA4 set-up and current reports.

  2. 02

    Weeks 3–4: Fix tracking

UTM standards, conversion events and dashboards are set up.

  3. 03

    Month 2: First insight report

A full analysis of what is working and what is not.

  4. 04

    Month 3: Ongoing reporting

    Monthly reports with clear recommendations.

Avoid these

Common social reporting mistakes.

Chasing vanity metrics

Follower counts and likes alone say little about business results.

Untagged links

Without UTM parameters, social traffic is often misreported in analytics.

Comparing platforms unfairly

Different platforms define reach and engagement differently, so raw numbers are not always comparable.

Reporting without recommendations

Numbers with no explanation do not help anyone make better decisions.

Looking at too short a period

Social results fluctuate. Trends over months are more reliable than week-to-week swings.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Which metrics matter most?

The ones tied to your goals: usually traffic, leads, sales and cost per result, supported by engagement metrics.

Can you track social sales?

Yes, with UTMs, pixels, conversion APIs and GA4 or CRM integration.

Do you provide dashboards?

Yes, with a plain-English monthly summary.

Can you audit our current reporting?

Yes. We review tracking and reporting and fix the gaps.

What are UTM parameters?

Short tags added to links that tell analytics tools where a visitor came from, such as the platform, campaign and post. They make social traffic easy to track in GA4.

Do you use GA4?

Yes. GA4 is our main tool for tracking what happens after someone clicks from social media to your website.

Can you track LinkedIn leads?

Yes. We can track website enquiries from LinkedIn and, where used, LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms.

How often will we get reports?

Monthly as standard, with quarterly reviews of longer-term trends and strategy.

Can you measure brand awareness?

Partly. Reach, branded searches, direct traffic and mentions together give a useful picture of awareness over time.

Do you analyse competitors?

Yes. We benchmark your activity and engagement against selected competitors using public data.

What if our tracking is broken?

We start with an audit and fix tracking first, so later reports are accurate.

Can you report on paid and organic together?

Yes. Combining them shows the full contribution of social media and helps you balance budget and effort.

Do you need admin access?

We need analyst or reporting access to each platform and GA4. We request the minimum permissions required.

Can you help us set goals?

Yes. We help you set realistic targets based on your past performance, industry benchmarks and business objectives.

What is a good engagement rate?

It varies by platform, industry and audience size. We focus on improving your own rate over time rather than chasing generic benchmarks.

Can analytics help our content planning?

Yes. Insight into which topics and formats perform best feeds directly into your content plan.

Do you track TikTok?

Yes. We include TikTok data alongside your other platforms where it is part of your strategy.

Is our data kept secure?

We only access the data needed for reporting and follow UK GDPR requirements.

Can you train our team to read reports?

Yes. A short session helps your team understand the metrics and use the dashboard confidently.

Do you work with other agencies?

Yes. We can provide independent reporting on campaigns run by other agencies or your in-house team.

Why do platform numbers differ from GA4?

Platforms count views and clicks on their own sites, while GA4 counts what happens on yours. Ad blockers, cookie consent and different attribution rules mean the numbers rarely match exactly, so we explain the gap rather than hide it.

Can you track sales from Instagram and Facebook shops?

Yes, where shop data is available. We combine it with website tracking so you can see the total sales social media influences.

How long before analytics improves our results?

Most clients make their first data-led changes within the first month or two, once tracking is fixed and the first insight report is complete.
